Tired of ketchup? Prepare Italian sougo sauce with basil. The same tomatoes act as the main ingredient, but in combination with additives it turns out quite original. Enjoy the delicious sauce now or close for the winter.
Ingredients
- Tomatoes - 1 kg
- Bell pepper - 300 g
- Basil - 50 g
- Onion (medium) – 2 pieces
- Garlic - 50 g
- Olive oil - 3 tbsp.l.
- Apple cider vinegar - 3 art.l.
- Sugar - 40 g
- Salt - 30 g
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Wash tomatoes, make a deep incision, scald with boiling water and peel.
Cut the bell pepper in half, peel off the seeds and stalks.
Remove the basil leaves from the stems.
Chop tomatoes, basil and bell pepper in a blender. Mix everything in a saucepan of a suitable size.
Peel the garlic and onion from the husk, finely chop and add to the rest of the vegetables.
Put the pan with the workpiece on a slow fire, add sugar, salt and butter. Boil everything together for 15 minutes.
Add vinegar, pour into clean, dry jars and roll up.
