Once I came across a recipe for herring under a fur coat with apples. Immediately I was skeptical about such an additive, but later decided to try it. How delicious this combination turned out to be! Sweet and sour apples gave the salad incredible notes. I advise you to cook by all means!
Ingredients
- Herring (low salt) – 1 piece
- Apples (sweet and sour) – 2 pieces
- Chicken eggs (boiled) – 3 pieces
- Beetroot (boiled) – 200 g
- Carrots (boiled) – 150 g
- Potatoes (boiled) – 200 g
- Onion - 2 pieces
- Lemon juice - 1 tbsp.l.
- Mayonnaise - 180 ml
- Dill (for decoration) – 1 twig
- Ground black pepper - to taste
- Salt - to taste
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Peel the herring, remove the bones and cut into small pieces. Chop the onion, rinse under running water and sprinkle with lemon juice.
Grate apples, boiled vegetables and eggs.
On a wide dish, assemble the salad in layers. First, lay out the potatoes, add pepper, salt and mayonnaise.
Then add the herring, onion and carrot. Add salt and pepper again.
Spread the apples and eggs in the next layer, sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Add beetroot mixed with mayonnaise on top.
Put the finished salad in the refrigerator for 2 hours to infuse. When serving, garnish with herbs.
