Harvesting is not only a way to save vegetables and fruits for the winter, but also a significant time saving. Especially if you are preserving not just one ingredient, but a full-fledged dish. For example, here is a pickle with tomatoes.
Ingredients
- Cucumbers - 1.5 kg
- Pearl barley - 250 g
- Tomatoes - 750 g
- Onion - 500 g
- Sugar - 2 art.l.
- Carrots - 500 g
- Salt - 1 tbsp.l.
- Water - 0.5 glasses
- Vinegar - 60 ml
- Vegetable oil - 60 ml
- Black Pepper - 7 peas
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Randomly chop all the vegetables and rinse the pearl barley.
Add oil, water, sugar, salt and pepper to the tomatoes. Bring to a boil.
Add the pearl barley and the rest of the vegetables, and boil for 20-30 minutes after boiling under the lid.
Pour in the vinegar, stir, boil for another 10 minutes and roll the pickle into sterile jars.
