Classic falafel is made from chickpeas, but in general you can use different legumes. Catch a recipe with lentils. I recommend using red – it has a nicer color and the cut of the balls will look more appetizing.
Ingredients
- Red Lentils - 200 g
- Onion - 1 piece
- Chili pepper - 1 piece
- Carrots - 1 piece
- Garlic - 1 clove
- Paprika - 1 tsp.
- Breadcrumbs - 4 art.l.
- Spices and seasonings - 1 tsp.
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Soak the lentils for 6-8 hours, rinse and pass through a meat grinder.
In the same place, pass the onion, garlic and chili through a meat grinder.
Grate the carrots on a fine grater and add all the spices.
Form falafel balls, roll in breadcrumbs and deep fry until golden brown.
