If you want something unusual, I advise you to cook herring under a fur coat with nuts. Just one ingredient and the usual salad becomes another. I recommend drying walnuts in a frying pan for a couple of minutes, so it turns out even tastier.
Ingredients
- Herring (low salt) – 1 piece
- Beetroot (boiled) – 200 g
- Potatoes (boiled) – 200 g
- Walnuts - 100 g
- Carrots (boiled) – 2 pieces
- Onion - 1 piece
- Chicken eggs (boiled) – 2 pieces
- Mayonnaise - 180 ml
- Ground black pepper - to taste
- Salt - to taste
- Cilantro - 1 twig
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Peel the herring from the skin and fins, gut and cut into small pieces.
Grate potatoes, beets, carrots and eggs on a coarse grater. Chop the onion with a knife, chop the nuts in a blender.
Put layers of herring, onion and potatoes on the bottom of the prepared plate. Add salt, pepper and mayonnaise.
Next, put the carrots, eggs, pepper again, salt and smear with mayonnaise. Add nuts and beets. Garnish with herbs, chopped eggs and send the salad to the refrigerator for 2 hours.
