For this recipe, you can use not only veal, but also beef, chicken or lean pork. The ideal side dishes for this dish are boiled rice and mashed potatoes. I tell you how to cook step by step!
Ingredients
- Veal - 600 g
- Carrots - 1 piece
- Onion - 1 piece
- Vegetable oil - 3 tbsp.l .
- Tomato paste - 2 art.l.
- Water (meat broth) – 250 ml
- Bay leaf - 1 piece
- Allspice (with peas) – 3-5 pieces
- Salt - to taste
- Ground black pepper - to taste
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Peel the vegetables, cut the carrots into cubes, and the onion into large cubes.
Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan and fry the vegetables over medium heat for about 5 minutes, until the onion becomes soft and transparent. Transfer the vegetables to a plate.
Add oil to the same pan and quickly fry the meat cut into pieces over high heat.
Turn down the heat and return the vegetables to the pan with the meat. Pour in the water, add tomato paste, bay leaf and allspice, mix everything well.
Simmer the meat and vegetables over low heat until the veal is soft. It can take 60-90 minutes.
At the end of cooking, add salt and pepper.
