If you like citrus fruits as much as I do, make a compote of oranges. The fragrant drink will perfectly quench thirst, replenish the supply of vitamins in the body and simply delight with warm memories of summer. If desired, you can add mint or lemon balm.
Ingredients
- Orange - 1 kg
- Sugar - 250 g
- Citric acid - 0,5 tsp.
- Water (filtered) – 4 l
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Wash the oranges with boiling water and cut them together with the peel.
Put the fruit in jars, taking up no more than half the volume.
Pour boiling water to the top, cover with lids and leave for half an hour.
Drain the water into a saucepan, add sugar, citric acid and bring to a boil again.
Pour into jars, roll up and wrap up with a warm blanket.
