Do you want to learn how to cook real marmalade? This is not as difficult as it may seem at first glance. Try at least this recipe for apple marmalade. It can be served immediately or stored for up to 3 months in tightly closed jars.

Ingredients

  • Apples - 2 kg
  • Sugar - 1 kg
  • Citric acid - on the tip of the knife
  • Agar-agar - 20 g
  • Water - 500 ml

Step-by-step cooking recipe

Cut the apples into quarters, remove the core and finely chop.

Put the workpiece in a saucepan, add 400 ml of water and boil for 15 minutes.

Rub the soft fruits through a sieve to get rid of the peel.

Add citric acid, 900 g of sugar and boil for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Agar-agar mix with 100 ml of warm water and put aside for 10 minutes.

Add the billet with agar-agar to the pan with applesauce and cook for another 5 minutes.

Spread the hot mass into the prepared molds and put it in a cool place for 4 hours.

Remove the finished marmalade from the molds, cut and roll in the remaining sugar. Fold the marmalade into clean, dry jars and close the lids tightly.
