I love five-minute jams for the opportunity to preserve the maximum benefit of the berries and fruits from which they are cooked. Today we will cook a bright and fragrant jam from red currant. It will take quite a bit of your time, and the result is definitely worth it.
Ingredients
- Red Currant - 1 kg
- Sugar - 1 kg
- Water - 200 ml
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Carefully remove the currant from the twigs, rinse under running water and dry.
Boil the syrup from the water and sugar.
Put the prepared berries in the boiling syrup, bring them to a boil again and, stirring, boil for 5 minutes.
Pour boiling jam into pre-sterilized jars, seal tightly, turn upside down and cool. Store the cooled jam in a cool, dark place.
