Strawberry compote for winter without sterilization
There is nothing better than getting ready-made compote from the pantry in winter. I offer you a delicious recipe for strawberry compote. If you are tired of strawberry jams, then the compote will delight you in winter with a sweet and pleasant taste.
Ingredients
- Strawberries - 2 kg
- Sugar - 350 g
- Water - 4 l
- Citric acid - 20 g
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Prepare jars for compote. I take one and a half liter cans. This volume is just enough to drink all the compote at once. Rinse and dry the jars.
Wash the strawberries well, remove the leaves. Arrange the strawberries in jars so that 1/3 of the jar is filled.
Fill the jars with boiling water. Let it stand like this for 15 minutes. Drain the water into a saucepan and put it on the fire. Add sugar and mix well. Bring the syrup to a boil, add citric acid, stir and turn off the heat.
Pour the hot syrup over the strawberries, roll them up and put them in a dark place. Wrap it up with a towel, when it cools down, hide it where you store the preservation.
