Many underestimate beetroot, nevertheless, you can cook a lot of delicious dishes from it. In the season of young vegetables, prepare pickled beetroot cubes for the winter. It can be served as a side dish, added to soups, stews and salads.
Ingredients
- Beetroot (red) – 1 kg
- Star anise - 3 asterisks
- Bay leaf - 2 pieces
- Allspice - 3 peas
- Vinegar - 2 art.l.
- Sugar - 40 g
- Salt - 25 g
- Water (filtered) – 1 l
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Wash the beets and put them together with the peel in a saucepan with water.
Boil until tender, remove from the water and cool. On average, this stage takes about 2 hours.
Peel the beetroot and cut into small cubes.
Place the cubes of beetroot and spices in the prepared jars.
Boil water, add sugar, salt and vinegar.
Pour the boiling marinade into the jars and roll up.
