This delicacy was once regaled by the pharaohs themselves. Now you have the opportunity to pamper your family with delicious dried fig jam! A rare and surprisingly delicious dessert is recommended to be served with crackers, fresh bread and cheese.

Ingredients

  • Figs - 1,5 kg
  • Sugar - 700 g
  • Lemon juice - 100 ml
  • Water - 1 l

Step-by-step cooking recipe

Boil water, add sugar and boil for 5 minutes.

Wash the figs and cut them into small pieces.

Pour the figs into a saucepan with syrup and cook for 30 minutes over low heat.

Pour in the lemon juice, boil for 2-3 minutes and place in sterilized jars. Roll up, turn upside down and wrap up for a day with a warm blanket.
