Today I will tell you the recipe for making “live” gooseberry jam with orange. The recipe does not involve cooking, which means that all the benefits of berries are preserved as much as possible. The delicacy turns out delicious, with a delicate aroma and citrus aftertaste. I recommend it!
Ingredients
- Gooseberry - 1 kg
- Sugar - 1 kg
- Orange - 2 pcs.
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Sort the gooseberries, remove the tails, rinse the berries under running water and throw them into a colander.
Wash the oranges and cut them into small pieces together with the peel, remove the bones.
Put gooseberries and oranges through a meat grinder.
Place the resulting mass in a bowl, cover with part of the sugar (about 200-250 g), mix well and leave for 30-60 minutes so that the sugar completely dissolves.
Then add some more sugar, mix and leave until completely dissolved. Repeat the procedure until the sugar runs out.
Pour the “live” gooseberry jam into pre-sterilized small jars, seal tightly and send it to the refrigerator for storage.
