Sea buckthorn does not particularly want to boil for a long time. Still, it is valuable for its benefits and high content of vitamins. At the same time, sometimes you want to make a really thick jam. What to do in such a situation? I suggest an excellent solution – add a little agar-agar.
Ingredients
- Sea Buckthorn - 1 kg
- Sugar - 1 kg
- Agar-agar - 20 g
- Water - 120 ml
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Cover the sea buckthorn with sugar and leave it overnight.
Fill the agar-agar with water and leave for half an hour.
Bring the sea buckthorn to a boil and boil for 7 minutes.
If desired, rub through a sieve and bring to a boil again.
Pour in the agar-agar, stir and boil the jam for another 3 minutes.
Roll it up in sterile jars.
