Even the simplest cherry compote for the winter can be pleasantly diversified with a couple of sprigs of fragrant herbs. Further in the recipe I will tell you how to do it, when to add them and when to remove them so as not to spoil the taste of the drink.

Step-by-step cooking recipe

Put the cherries in a sterile jar and pour boiling water over them.

Leave under the lid for 10 minutes, drain and bring to a boil again.

Add sugar and all herbs with mint, and boil for 3-5 minutes on low heat.

Remove the herbs from the syrup, add citric acid and mix.

Pour the cherries again and roll up the compote for the winter.
