Surprise your family with an unusual treat: make jam from gooseberries and red currants! The berries are perfectly combined in taste and smell. They can be boiled whole or pre-crushed. I like the second option, and I'll tell you about it now.
Ingredients
- Gooseberry - 1 kg
- Red currant - 1 kg
- Sugar - 1 kg
- Citric acid - at the tip of the knife
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Remove the red currants from the twigs, put them in a colander and rinse.
Peel the gooseberries from the dry tails and rinse thoroughly.
Pass both blanks through a meat grinder or grind in a blender.
Add sugar, stir and boil for 10 minutes. Remove the pan from the heat and set aside to cool.
Bring the mass to a boil again, add citric acid and cook for another 5-7 minutes.
Put the hot jam in sterilized jars and roll it up.
